If your child is going to the Volleyball Tournament next week here's all the info you need. Please take time to read through it and let us know if you have any questions, thanks. Coach Kline and Davis

Event Details

  • State High North Main Gym near the Delta Program building and indoor pool.

  • Tuesday, March 19, Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21.

  • Competition will begin at approximately 4:10 PM each day and usually ends at about 6:30 PM or shortly after. Students will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian and check out with a coach before leaving.

  • Concessions will be open and offered by the State High Boys Volleyball booster club.

Admission

  • In past years, we have charged an entry fee for spectators and families. As a trial this year, we will be moving away from a mandatory entry fee to be more inclusive and welcoming to all. However, for those who are willing, we will be asking for donations to help offset the costs. Donations will directly support the continuing ability to offer intramural events and championships to over 1,100 unique 4th and 5th graders districtwide.

  • Cash and check (payable to SCASD) donations will be accepted outside of the gym during all events.

Parking

  • Please use the North campus parking lots.

  • The HS South lot is also available if the North lot is full.

  • ADA parking is available in the lot closest to the North gym

  • Note: The HS day ends at 3:40 PM; parents and spectators should arrive as close to 4 PM as possible to avoid congestion at the end of the school day.

Please do not park in the fire lane adjacent to the sidewalk, or block any ADA-accessible sidewalk ramps. Violators may be ticketed or towed.

Seating

  • Bleacher seating is available on the west side of the North Main Gym. Please sit above your child’s school and supervise children not participating in the tournament.

  • Use of the track is strictly prohibited during the tournament.

Volleyball practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Radio Park Elementary beginning January 30. Parents are expected to pick up their children at Radio Park Elementary at 4:30 p.m.

Volleyball dates are as follows:  

Fourth graders: Jan. 30; Feb. 1, 6, 8

Fifth graders: Feb. 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29; Mar. 12, 14 (Volleyball tournament to be held at the High School the end of March for 5th graders only - tentative dates are March 19-21)

 

All 4th and 5th grade students will have an opportunity to learn volleyball skills. The coaches will be stressing fun, fitness, and good sportsmanship.

Sneakers are preferred for playing volleyball.

Permission slips MUST BE TURNED IN BEFORE the student can participate.
