Hi! I'm Mrs. Robert and I am beginning my 32nd year of teaching at Radio Park Elementary School! I LOVE teaching second grade! I have lived in State College since I was one year old. I went to Ferguson Township Elementary School and graduated from State College Area High School in 1985. I graduated from Penn State in 1989. My twin sister, my younger sister, and my daughter are also State High and Penn State grads!!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My son, Matthew, lives and works locally. My daughter, Megan, is a 2nd grade teacher at Mount Nittany Elementary School. I am so proud and so happy to call her a 2nd grade colleague in our school district!
My family enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sports together, and doing anything outdoors. We are HUGE Pittsburgh Steelers fans and Penn State football fans as well. The beach is our favorite summer vacation spot, but we also enjoy camping at Prince Gallitzin State Park. I also have a wonderful group of pickleball friends and you can find me on the pickleball courts almost every day when the weather cooperates!
One of the proudest and most touching moments of my teaching career was being selected by State College Magazine as a 2016 "Teacher of the Year." It was truly special to be recognized for doing this job that I love so dearly. I was also awarded the Penn State College of Education Alumni Society 2016 Outstanding Teaching Award. I am looking forward to a wonderful year in second grade! I LOVE working with children and promise to make this the best school year ever! Please know that when your child walks through my classroom door each day, I will love and care for them with ALL my heart. I want your child to love coming to school every day and I want our classroom to be a warm, nurturing place for learning. It's going to be a fantastic school year!
