All About Mrs. Zahuranec

Although I didn't spend my childhood in State College, I consider it to be my hometown. I have lived here for the majority of my adult life. I first came to State College as a freshman at Penn State (my dad, sister, and brother are all grads too).  I moved away for a short time after graduation but quickly returned, and I have been here ever since. 

I spent the first 18 years of my teaching career in a nearby district where I taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades, and worked as the district's elementary literacy coach. In the fall of 2016, I had the opportunity to join the Radio Park family as a kindergarten teacher.  I feel very fortunate to be part of this amazing learning community! My favorite part has been building new connections with new families and (of course) laughing and learning together every day. 

My husband and I live in State College with our dog Roux (a Black Mouth Cur rescue from Louisanna). When I'm not at school, I enjoy being outdoors, reading, traveling, practicing yoga, building LEGOS, gardening, cooking, and watching football (Nittany Lions and Chicago Bears).
